All common gull and tern species that are found in the UK will be studied. We have a presentation indoors then visit the gull roost at WWT Slimbridge.
Little, Black-headed, Common, Mediterranean, Herring, Yellow-legged, Lesser-Black backed, Great Black backed, Kittiwake, and Little, Sandwich, Common, Arctic, Roseate and Black Tern are all covered.
We will look closely at the ageing of these species from juvenile to first-winter, first summer to second winter and so on until we reach the adult plumage.

Anser identification workshops aim to help beginners with basic identification skills. Completion of the full course should allow participants to fully understand the pitfalls involved and learn to identify British birds more easily.
